The wind rustles the leaves in the trees. Indigo fields of bluebonnets come right up to your front door. Down the hill, Willow Creek flows on its way to the Llano River. The picture is complete, except for you!
This wonderfully restored German farmhouse awaits your presence to complete the perfect weekend getaway. Stroll the nature trail and see Texas flora and fauna close up. Wander over and see the historic Art Methodist Church or drive a short way into town and visit museums or do some shopping.
In 1883, Heinrich and Fredricka Hasse greeted visitors to their home with a single German phrase: "Wilkommen zu mein haus." The descendants of their great-granddaughter and original Hasse House proprietor, Laverne Lee, issue the same greeting to guests today, over a century and a quarter later.
The Hasse House is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, is a Texas Century Ranch and is graced by a Texas Historical Marker. This is a unique guesthouse and was the first bed and breakfast in Mason County. In addition to being a working ranch, the 320 acres surrounding the house offer ample opportunities for observing the abundant wildlife - deer, wild turkeys, feral hogs, and quail are all common sights. The two mile hiking trail lets you enjoy the peace and tranquility of country life.
The house is complete with period furniture, accessories, dishes, pans, linens and a modern kitchen with electric range, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and coffeemaker. Enjoy our historic surroundings but with your favorite modern comforts such as satellite HD-TV, WI-FI, washer/dryer and central heat and air.
The Hasse House is a 2-bedroom guesthouse with private tiled shower bath on each floor. This lodging provides coffees and teas but no breakfast.
Rates are:
