FORT MASON - Reconstructed officers quarters on top of "Post Hill", just blocks from the Courthouse Square, includes 3 rooms furnished as in 1861 and display room full of interesting history on the Fort. Self-guided, open 24/7
MASON SQUARE MUSEUM - Located downtown on the Square, has great display of local artifacts (Indian and early settlers), largest blue Topaz in America, rotating display of local artists work
HISTORICAL MUSEUM - Located 2 blocks off the Square, takes up the entire second floor of the Historical Building (first high school) filled with artifacts and objects of early life of farmers, ranchers and cowboys!
ODEON MOVIE THEATER- First run movies show on Friday - Monday nights; Click here to see monthly schedule. Quite a bargain at $4 a seat!
BAT CAVE - The Mexican Free-Tailed bats are certainly a sight to see when they are in residence, usually May through October. Mason has the largest maternity cave in Texas (of around 10 million) who return to birth and raise their young.
MASON CITY PARK - Set in lovely pecan grove, free and open to the public. Children's playscape, picnic tables, restrooms, Nature Trail. Also, is location of 9 hole Golf Course, Rodeo Arena, Dance Slab, Ball Parks, Soccer Fields, Football Stadium, Community Building where many local activities occur. Also has RV and camping facilities.
