This charming guest house is a wonderful reminder
that early Texas history can be fascinating!
Built in 2001, the 2 story rock home was designed to
replicate early Texas frontier barracks to house soldiers in
Outpost Forts they served.
From the handhewn settee & chairs, wood planked tables, hutches and cabinetry, the lodging carries the feel of rustic warmth.
With the addition of authentic memorabilia that the owners have collected over the years, the step-back-in-time
is complete, of early days of the US Calvary
.. and the cowboys and Indians that they encountered!
Bringing the comforts of the 21st century to today's guests,
the home is made modern with central heat/air,
satellite TVs w/ DVD players and Wi-Fi, even indoor plumbing!
On entering this unique home, guests are delighted
with the comfortable sitting and TV area along with a
large dining table to seat 6. There is a kitchenette complete
with microwave, toaster oven, enamel dinnerware and mini-fridge. For guests' convenience, there is also a half-bath
on this level.
Upstairs, the owners have provided quilt laden full size beds
in the 2 bedrooms, plus the addition of a twin bedroom
in an alcove off the rear bedroom.
In one, the bedstead is handmade and crafted locally of mesquite
while the other is of smooth log construction.
The upper hallway allows two access points to the wraparound porch which is filled with bentwood and slat rockers to enjoy the view nestled among the giant oak trees.
Perfect spot for relaxing with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine while enjoying the peace and quiet to be found here!

Rates are $125 plus tax per night for 1-2 persons; $15 plus tax
pr additional person over 5 yrs of age.
Single nights permitted ... but you will wish you could stay longer!
